What It Is

Tesamorelin is a stabilized GHRH analogue and one of the few growth-hormone peptides with full FDA approval. As Egrifta it is approved to reduce excess visceral (deep abdominal) fat in HIV-associated lipodystrophy.

It works by stimulating the pituitary to release your own growth hormone in a natural pattern, which preferentially mobilizes visceral fat — the metabolically dangerous fat around the organs — while also modestly improving lipids.

Its clinical pedigree makes it stand out: the visceral-fat reduction is documented in proper randomized trials, not just anecdote. It does raise IGF-1 and can nudge blood sugar, so monitoring matters.

What People Use It For

Visceral Fat Reduction

Specifically reduces deep abdominal (visceral) fat.

FDA-approved for this; demonstrated in randomized controlled trials

Body Composition

Improves the fat-to-lean ratio via natural GH release.

Clinical-grade evidence in its approved population

Metabolic & Lipid Markers

Modest improvements in triglycerides and related markers follow the fat loss.

Documented in trials; monitor glucose and IGF-1
