What It Is

KPV is a tiny tripeptide (lysine-proline-valine) that is the active C-terminal fragment of alpha-MSH, a hormone with potent anti-inflammatory properties. KPV keeps the anti-inflammatory action while shedding the pigmentation and other effects of the full molecule.

It works largely inside cells, calming inflammatory signaling (such as NF-kB) at the source. That makes it popular for gut inflammation (IBD-type issues) and inflammatory skin conditions — used orally for the gut, or topically/subcutaneously for skin.

Human clinical data is limited, but its mechanism is well characterized and anecdotal reports — especially for gut and skin — are generally positive and consistent.

What People Use It For

Gut Inflammation

Calms intestinal inflammation; an oral capsule targets the gut directly.

Strong preclinical IBD data; human use largely anecdotal

Skin Healing & Inflammation

Soothes inflammatory skin issues and supports healing.

Mechanistically supported; popular topically

General Anti-Inflammatory

Broad calming of inflammatory signaling.

Well-characterized mechanism; limited human trials

How Strong Is the Evidence?

We rate every peptide honestly across four dimensions — and tell you what it's not.

Experimental

Mostly preclinical (animal/in-vitro) evidence with a clear mechanism. Human effects are largely anecdotal.

Who It's For

Men

Men with gut issues (IBS/IBD-type) or inflammatory skin conditions

Gut healthSkinAnti-inflammatory

Oral capsules for gut, topical/subcutaneous for skin. Well tolerated and a good adjunct to BPC-157 for the gut.

Women

Women with gut or skin inflammation seeking a gentle anti-inflammatory
