What It Is

GHRP-2 (pralmorelin) is a growth-hormone-releasing peptide that strongly stimulates the pituitary to release GH, while also acting like ghrelin to increase appetite. It is potent and reliable enough that in Japan it is used as a diagnostic agent for GH deficiency.

Compared with Ipamorelin it gives a bigger GH pulse, but with less selectivity: it can also raise cortisol, prolactin and hunger, particularly at higher doses. For many users the appetite boost is a feature (bulking) rather than a bug.

It is most effective stacked with a GHRH such as CJC-1295, where the two combine for a markedly larger and more natural GH release than either alone.

What People Use It For

GH Release & Recovery

Robust GH stimulation supporting recovery and body composition.

Well-documented potent GH release; used clinically as a diagnostic

Appetite Stimulation

Increases hunger via ghrelin-like action — useful for bulking or poor appetite.

Demonstrated in human studies (increased food intake)

Body Composition

Supports lean mass and recovery when stacked and trained around.

Mechanistically sound; gradual aesthetic effects

How Strong Is the Evidence?

We rate every peptide honestly across four dimensions — and tell you what it's not.

Experimental

Mostly preclinical (animal/in-vitro) evidence with a clear mechanism. Human effects are largely anecdotal.

Who It's For

Men

Men in a building phase who want strong GH release and don't mind (or want) the appetite boost

GH releaseRecoveryMass

Stack with CJC-1295. Higher doses raise cortisol/prolactin — more is not better. Time doses around meals.

Women

Women using GH peptides who can tolerate increased appetite

RecoveryBody composition

Appetite stimulation can be pronounced; limited female-specific data. Avoid in pregnancy.

♀ Women's Notes

Used by women; may stimulate appetite. Limited female-specific data.

Hard Stops — Do Not Use If:

Do not use with active cancer.

Cautions — Use With Care If:

Can raise cortisol and prolactin at higher doses.

Stack with a GHRH for a stronger, more natural GH pulse.

What to expect — side effects

The effects most commonly reported with GHRP-2, when they tend to show up, and how to manage them.

Water retention / puffinessCommon First 1–2 weeks

Often eases as you adjust; lower the dose if bothersome.

Tingling or numbness (hands)Occasional Early weeks

A carpal-tunnel-like effect from fluid shifts — reduce dose if it persists.

Increased hungerOccasional Soon after dosing (GHRPs)

Plan meals around dosing; more pronounced with GHRP-6/GHRP-2.

Lethargy / grogginessOccasional After dosing, esp. higher doses

Dose before bed; lower the dose if daytime grogginess occurs.

Raised blood sugar / insulin resistanceOccasional Ongoing use

Monitor fasting glucose and HbA1c; especially relevant if pre-diabetic.

Individual responses vary. Stop and consult a clinician for severe, persistent, or unexpected reactions.
